The Ashgabat 2017 Executive Committee is proud to announce the launch of the Ashgabat 2017 Games Academy.
The innovative recruitment programme will see the Executive Committee recruit 400 Turkmen nationals to develop their skills and Games knowledge as part of a lasting legacy to develop sports events leaders of the future.
Speaking about the Games Academy, Mick Wright, Chief Operating Officer of the Ashgabat 2017 Executive Committee said: “We are really pleased to launch the Games Academy recruitment programme, we already have some very talented nationals within our team and our aim is to continue to develop and grow our workforce with the addition of ambitious new recruits.
“The Games Academy will give Turkmen nationals the chance to be mentored by our international team and learn sports management best practise whilst gaining vital hands-on experience during test events and at Games time.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of the biggest sporting event in Turkmenistan and each recruit will directly contribute to the success of the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games.”
The Games Academy recruits will have the opportunity to fulfil key roles within the Executive Committee. Through the Games Academy Learning Programme, the recruits will receive a 3-day foundation course, placement into an operational delivery function and continuous development overseen by leading experts from Ashgabat 2017 Operator for Games Planning and Delivery, Trivandi Chanzo.
Ata Akmammedov, Head of Department - Sport, said: “I am really pleased to be part of the Ashgabat 2017 team and one the key managers in the Sport department. The Games Academy is an exciting opportunity for Turkmen nationals who are enthusiastic and driven to develop new skills and gain knowledge about the planning and operations involved in major events.
“I have already gained so much from working alongside my international colleagues. I feel motivated to do my best every day and a real sense of pride in working on this event for my country. “
Talent and motivated individuals will be invited to apply to be part of the Games Academy, with the aim of recruiting 50 people per month starting in December. Key roles are available in various directorates including Games Operations, Commercial, Sport, Technology, Human Resources & Workforce and Finance.
