Indoor court successfully tested for the readiness for the 2017 Asian Games
The Junior Tennis Tournament, which was successfully held in Ashgabat, proved the readiness of the indoor tennis court and supporting services of the Olympic Village in Ashgabat to host the 2017 Asian Games and international tournaments.
According to the referee of the competitions, internationally certified judge Erkan Tarhan Ahmed (Turkey), the Olympic Village and tennis courts in particular are highly competitive with their best analogues not only in Asia but the world as well.
Tennis is one of 21 sports included into the programme of the 5th Asian Games. Therefore, all necessary conditions to train athletes and host various tournaments were created in the Olympic Village. The indoor court (98, 4 x 194, 4 meters, 30 meters in height) blends well with the multifunctional sports cluster. Sportsmen, who participated in the trial competitions, could see the value in the architectural design and modern technological infrastructure of the indoor arena. There are two arenas in the complex. The main arena includes seats and one tennis court, the second one – four tennis courts and seats designed for 4,000 spectators.
All necessary conditions for the participants of the upcoming Games have been created in the indoor tennis court. The coverage for the courts is produced by the famous American company Deco Turf. French specialists from the Babolat company supplied rackets and balls to the complex. Moreover, there are rooms for individual and general physical trainings, baths, saunas, eight massage rooms in the complex. Comfortable conditions were created for tennis fans. There are cozy cafes designed for more than 170 people on each storey of the complex.
