The Turkmen team is successfully started the V Asian Beach Games
The competitions were held in Da Nang city (Vietnam), attended by athletes from 45 countries. The representatives of our country have already won seven medals.
The mentor of sports school Hojambaz District Nuryagdy Djepbarov (up to 73 kg) and Turkmenabat sports school coach of sport school Zarina Saparova (up to 48 kg) are respectively distinguished with silver and bronze medals in the competition on kurash.
Two awards were produced in female competitions in Thai boxing. On the third step of the podium stood Yanyl Kavisova (weight category up to 57 kg) and Jennet Aynazarova (up to 60 kg). Both athletes are students of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism.
Bronze medals in ju-jitsu were awarded the representatives of Federation of Martial Arts Ulyana Kudova (up to 49 kg) and Angelina Fillipova (up to 55 kg).
In addition, the demonstrations in jiu-jitsu, the students of the Institute of National Security Yusup and Ahmet Tangriberdiev won silver medals in demonstration performances in the jiu-jitsu.
All of the above mentioned kinds of sport are included in the program of V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held next year in Ashgabat. Therefore, beach games in Vietnam can be seen as an important stage of preparation for these complex events.
Our athletes also have to compete for medals in basketball (3x3 format), wrestling (freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling), and sambo.
